The electricity in Malawi is constantly turned off by the government many times a day. Some days for more than 8 – 12 hours (scheduled brown outs) as the demand for electricity is more than they can produce. When the electricity if off, there is NO water to wash or bathe, NO water for toilets. A diesel powered generator has to be run to provide water. The cost of diesel is very expensive. The return on this $5,000 investment will be less than one year.
